We checked the usefulness of Digital Infrared Thermal Imaging(D.I.T.I.) in the early diagnosis and treatment in the ten rheumatoid arthritis patients, fulfilling the American College of Rheumatology criteria.
The results were as follows:
1. The temperature of left humerus, left hand, right humerus and right hand were 29.02 ¡É, 29.47¡É, 29.11¡É, 29.23¡É, respectively. The thermal difference between left humerus and left hand, right humerus and right hand were +0.46¡É, +0.12¡É respectively. It showed craniocaudal thermal deviation.
2. The mean erythrocyte sedimentation rate was 77.1§®/hr. The correlation efficient between ESR and Lt. thermal difference (between left humerus and hand), ESR and Rt. thermal difference (between right humerus and hand) were -0.128 and 0.067, respectively. There were no relationships.
